Your campsite welcomes hikers and cyclists
In order to welcome you in the best conditions, Val Vert en Berry is a campsite with the “Accueil Vélo” and “Base VTT” labels near Châteauroux. This guarantees you: racks to store your bikes, a repair kit, a grocery store to stock up, something to eat in the morning androutes to take…just outside the campsite in Indre! Walkers will also appreciate the proximity of downtown La Châtre, with its shops and old buildings.
As for cyclists, they can take advantage of the proximity of several hiking trails: the GR654 “Saint Jacques de Compostelle”, the GR de pays “Sur les pas des Maîtres sonneurs”, or the GR100 “Les chemins de la Guerre de 100 ans”. After a day’s walking, they can relax in one of our accommodations or on the restaurant terrace…

With a tradition dating back to the 9th century, the roads leading to Santiago de Compostela have gradually been adopted by cyclists.
The Vézelay-Limoges route, which passes through the Accueil Vélo campsite in Indre, is 432 km long, and features 10 UNESCO World Heritage monuments.
Cycling through the Indre on the Cycloboheme
Fully signposted, the Cyclo Bohème starts in Touraine and ends at Chambon-sur-Voueize, in the foothills of the Massif Central. Following the course of the Indre River, it stretches over 300 km. Passing through Val Vert in Berry, this section of the cycle route winds its way through the Vallée Noire so dear to George Sand, all the way to Nohant, the house where she grew up.
